Cate came away with an 8-7 victory on Wednesday against Carpinteria to split the season series and force a second-place tie in the Tri-Valley League.
Wyatt Stevenson had a last-second shot for the Warriors blocked by the Cate goalie. The two teams will play a tiebreaker for playoff seeding next Friday.
Forrest Van Stein and Eric Thornburgh led the Warriors in scoring with two goals each.
