Santa Barbara High turned away Ventura on Thursday, 9-5, in a Channel League contest.
Jack Rottman scored a team-high four goals and Sawyer Rhodes added three to lead the Dons’ offense. Goalie Justyn Barrios blocked a penalty shot and the team defense limited the Cougars to one goal on seven power plays. Chris Gaffney produced three steals and three ejections.
Santa Barbara (11-4, 2-0) hosts Servite on Friday at 3 p.m. in a non-league matchup.
