Erica Schroeder and the San Marcos girls cross country team were top dogs at the Bell-Jeff Invitational at Griffith Park on Saturday.
Schroeder was the individual champion in the large-school race with a time of 18 minutes and two seconds. The one point from Schroeder helped the Royals team score 58 points, finishing first overall ahead of Quartz Hill (65) and Northwood (109). There were 23 teams racing and 187 runners in Schroeder’s race.
Lee Al’Atraqchi came in sixth for the Royals. Mya Adornetto produced a 10th-place result. Kendra Dayton and Emma Tracy also scored for the Royals.
