Christina Rice kept up her dominating streak to start the season, winning her third-straight cross-country race on Friday afternoon at the Gold Coast Invite.
Rice set the course record in a time of 17 minutes and 59 seconds.
Hunter Clark was in a position to win the boys race for the Chargers but settled for 3rd place after making a wrong turn with less than a quarter mile remaining. Clark’s time was 15:53.
Rice and Clark led the Chargers girls and boys teams to 3rd place finishes as a group.
Jeremiah McElwee came in 10th place for the boys team, followed by Jack Randmaa in 28th and Dustin Oakes in 30th.
Kailey Reardon was DP’s second-fastest female, placing 13th overall with a time of 20:02. Natalie Hawkins (19th), Kareena DeSilva (24th) and Joanna Zukin (28th) added top-30 results.
Dos Pueblos races again in the Channel League’s second meet on October 7 in Ventura.
