WSoc: Warriors denied by Azusa in OT

Westmont ran up against a hot goalkeeper in the second half at Azusa Pacific and dropped a 2-1 nonconference women’s soccer decision against the Cougars on Saturday.

Azusa’s Zoey Bauman stopped the Warriors’ Kelsey Steck in the 84th minute and made two saves on shots by Sophie Fuller in overtime.

The Cougars’ Katelyn Rogers scored the game-winning goal during a scramble in front of the Westmont goal in the 101st minute. It was their only shot in the extra period.

Hailey Parker gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead in the 58th minute, finishing a cross from Steck. It was Parker’s first goal of the season.

Azusa (4-0) tied the score in the 80th minute.
