Carly Richardson’s tremendous individual effort sparked Westmont to a 4-0 non-conference women’s soccer win over Soka University on Wednesday in Irvine.
Richardson intercepted a Soka clearance and ripped a shot past the goalkeeper for a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute.
Jackie Lopez headed in a corner kick from Angela Brown for the second goal in the 25th minute; it was her fourth goal of the season. Haylee Lopez scored their third goal in the 36th minute off assists from Kelsey Steck and Brooke Lillywhite.
Kaitlin Swift took a flick header Grayce DeGroot and put the ball away for the fourth goal in the 77th minute.
The Warriors outshot Soka 21-8.
