San Marcos was knocked out in the first round of the playoffs at the San Luis Obispo Volleyball Tournament on Saturday.
The Royals fell to Arroyo Grande, 25-22, and finished fifth out of 48 teams.
“We had a great tournament that ended too early,” San Marcos coach Erica Menzel Downing said. “Arroyo Grande was a great team and we had some Unlucky calls go against us.”
The Royals defeated Atascadero (25-17, 25-15), Lemoore (25-12, 25-18) and Frontier (25-20) in pool play on Saturday.

The Royals play at Westlake on Thursday.
