Chloe Allen served as the catalyst for the San Marcos girls volleyball team en route to a 4-set victory over Oxnard on Tuesday.
The Royals allowed Oxnard to take the first set 25-22, but with the help of Allen they were able to battle back and take the following three games, 25-18, 25-12, 25-22.
Allen showed her versatility on both sides of the ball, knocking down 30 kills and popping up 22 digs on the day. Gabi Peoples dished out 41 assists and tallied 13 digs.
“After the first game loss, we improved our defense and ball control,” said coach Erica Menzel-Downing. “We started serving better and making less errors.”
San Marcos improves to 2-1 after the victory and is set to play in the San Luis Obispo tournament this weekend.
