It was so hot in Dunn’s gym on Saturday that the volleyball match with Providence was delayed for two hours as ice-water fans attempted to cool it down. The Patriots stuck around and defeated the Earwigs 25-17, 25-19, 17-25, 25-19.
Setters Madison Niessen and Keara Rutz were active in all facets of the match. Rutz led the team with seven aces. Katie Hodson tallied 10 kills. Patriots head coach Dave Goss credited freshman Maggie Coffin with consistent passing. Natalie Torres’ four blocks were a team high.
