Laguna Blanca’s girls volleyball team reached the Division 2 final of the Silver Division bracket at the Dave Mohs Tournament on Saturday, falling to Bonita 25-21, 25-18.
The Owls had won three matches up to that point against much larger schools in the tournament. Laguna Blanca lost to Northwood and Fountain Valley before winning three straight against Buena Park, Marina and University.
“Going 3-3 at this tournament was great for our team. We were a few points away from being in the Gold Division, and we continued to improve throughout the weekend. It was a great experience,” said Laguna head coach Jason Donnelly.
Donnelly said Dani Abrams, Phoebe Madsen and Laurel Kujan all had great tournaments.
Laguna Blanca (8-3) has next week off before playing at Santa Barbara High on September 22.
