Dos Pueblos tested itself against some of the top volleyball teams in the CIF and in the country Saturday at the Dave Mohs Orange County Championships.
The Chargers went 0-4 playing against Corona del Mar, Villa Park and Corona-Centennial in pool play and Murrieta Valley in the bronze division playoffs. Division 1AA Corona del Mar is ranked No. 1 in the nation, according to MaxPreps; Villa Park is ranked third in Division 1A and Centennial is a large school.
“Overall, 0-4 on a weekend usually isn’t a very good result,” DP coach Dillan Bennett said. “But considering all of the factors involved with our personnel, our experience level, and the very high-level of play, I think everyone who saw court time learned a great deal about what it will take for our program to be successful again at DP. We had a few glimmers of shining play, but overall it was a weekend of learning what we must do to be a competitive program.”
The Chargers (0-6) host Rio Mesa on Tuesday night.
