Santa Barbara triumphed in its Channel League opener on Thursday night, a 25-20, 20-25, 25-22, 25-16 decision over Buena.
Jessyca Beksa’s 24 kills were a driving force in the victory. Dons head coach John Gannon credited defensive contributions from Megan Seabury and 11 kills from Lourda Weger as other positive factors in the win.
Santa Barbara (5-2, 1-0) will travel to the Westlake Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
“Really looking to playing some good volleyball down there, we played some good volleyball tonight and it’s another strong effort from the Lady Dons,” Gannon said.
