With a stellar performance coming from setter Audrey Baldwin, the Dos Pueblos girls volleyball team overcame Oxnard in four sets on Tuesday in a non-league away matchup. The game scores were 27-25, 18-25, 25-8, and 25-19.
Baldwin showed her versatility with 49 assists, two blocks, five digs, and seven kills on the night while Karrisa Mertens had a game high of 14 kills. Catherine Hogan dug up 29 balls at the libero position and served two aces.
“We missed a lot of serves in the second game but then came out firing in the third,” said coach Dillan Bennett. “We had seven aces as a team, most of which came in that game. We were efficient and got them out of rhythm and was able to setup our offense exactly how we wanted it.”
The Chargers improve to 2-6 with the win and will hit the road on Saturday where they will face one of the top seeded teams in Division 1, Marlborough.
