The new-look Carpinteria girls tennis team fell to Hart on Tuesday, 12-6, in a non-league match. The Warriors began their season with a whole new lineup after graduating nine seniors from last year’s team.
Madison Cleek, one of two returning players, won two of three matches in singles to lead the Warriors. Carpinteria picked up two more sets in singles.
The Warriors’ points in doubles came from Maria Zamora/Athena Cuellar and Alondra Costilla/Josie Gordon.
“At times, we were very solid and moving well as a tandem and at other times we were very unprepared and out of position,” said Warriors coach Charles Bryant about the doubles performances.
