Gabby Minier produced the best round of her young high school career on Thursday, leading Dos Pueblos’ girls golf team to a 195-253 victory over San Luis Obispo at Dairy Creek Golf Club.
Minier’s even-par 35 consisted of one birdie, one bogey and seven pars. Minier, a freshman, was medalist for the first time.
“She makes really good decisions on the course,” explained Chargers assistant coach Rob Schiff.
About the weather, Schiff said, “It was baking, over 90. There was a little breeze that made it tolerable.”
Megan Caird shot a 38, Julia Forster a 39, Bella Vigna 40 and Jamie Sharpe 43 for Dos Pueblos, which plays again on Monday in a tournament at Simi Hills Golf Course followed by the Channel League opener on Thursday at Ventura.
