The Cate cross country teams swept a four-team meet at the Carpinteria Bluffs on Wednesday.
In the girls race, the Rams edged Carpinteria 33-38, and Santa Paula took third with 50 points.
Cate scored 34 points to win the boys race over Carpinteria (41), Santa Paula (46) and Santa Clara (105).
Carpinteria’s Mikela Keefer was the girls individual winner in 20:38 and Charlotte Monke of Cate finished second in 21:22.
The Rams had four runners finish in the top 10. Sophomore Isabella Montes de Oca was sixth in 22:31, followed closely by freshman Bella Hillyer in seventh (22:43) and senior Jessica Liou in eighth (22:48) Junior Serena Soh came in 14th place for the fifth Cate runner in 25:17.
The Cate boys had a strong pack race, with only 1:47 separating the first five runners. The Rams were led by sophomore Kyril Van Schendel, who coasted to a meet-record 17:51 to win the race. Senior co-captain Rei Imada led the Cate pack with a sixth-place finish in 18:59, followed closely by fellow senior captain Jack Pruitt (8th in 19:13), junior Henry Walsh (9th in 19:18) and junior Francesco Duffy-Boscagli (10th in 19:38).
