Mitchell Martin and Reilly McMahon overcame Brandon Gama and John Gilles in a playoff on Sunday to claim their second championship in three years at the Santa Barbara Classic.
Martin, in fact, has owned the title since 2013 having also won in 2014 with partner Cole Nygren.
The scores at Santa Barbara Golf Club were a bit higher on Sunday than Saturday, when Brett Patton and Jonny Hogan combined to score a tournament record 13-under 57. Patton and Hogan slipped to third place one stroke behind the two playoff teams.
McMahon and Martin carded a 64 on Sunday and finished with a two-day score of 123. Gama and Gilles came through with the lowest round on Sunday, a 63, to force the playoff.
Both Martin and McMahon are college players. Martin hails from UCLA and McMahon from Cal Poly.
