San Marcos High’s Cassidy Drury-Pullen and partner Jamie Walsh won the girls 18s division championship at the California Beach Volleyball Association Youth Tournament in Pismo Beach on Saturday.
Drury-Pullen and the Stetson University-bound Walsh, a 6-foot lefty from Arroyo Grande, defeated the Santa Ynez duo of Taylor Nation and Hannah Rogers in the final. Rogers is the daughter of 2008 Olympic gold medalist Todd Rogers
Drury-Pullen has had a busy summer playing beach volleyball. During July, she competed in three major events: Beach Volleyball Club of America Championships (9th in gold division), USA Volleyball High Performance Championships (silver division) and AAU Junior Olympics (9th in gold division). She also competed in AAU 16s (third) and CBVA 18s (third) events and two CBVA “AA” tournaments.
She received an invitation to play in the AVPFirst Tournament (Aug. 11-12) prior to the prestigious AVP Manhattan Open in Manhattan Beach.
