The local team of Paige Doughty and Tiffany Medel stormed back from a seven-point deficit to capture the girls 12-under division title at the California Beach Volleyball Association Youth Tournament in Pismo Beach on Saturday.
Doughty-Medel defeated Kailyn Castle and Jeslyn Cuellar, 22-20, in the final after being down 17-10 in windy conditions. The result avenged a 21-14 loss suffered during pool play.
The title was Doughty and Medel’s third together this summer.
