Buddy Melgoza helped power the Goleta Valley South Little League 12-Under All-Stars to an 18-1 rout over Santa Paula in a District 63 Tournament game on Wednesday

Melgoza belted a grand slam in the first inning and ripped two-run homer in the second.

Every player in the GVSLL line-up scored at least one run, with Caden Vom Steeg, Nick Oakley, and Melgoza each notching three hits.

Starting pitcher Jackson Haskell no-hit Santa Paula for two innings, before giving way to Melgoza, who closed the four-inning game on the mound.

GVSLL is now 5-0 in tournament pool play, having outscored opponents 76-7. The team clinched a position as one of four teams to advance to single elimination bracket play starting July 11. They next play Carpenteria in their final pool play game July 3 in Montalvo.
