The Goleta Valley South Little League 10-Under All Stars celebrate wiinning the Section 1 title.
GVSLL 10U All Stars defeated TOLL 7-5 to win the Little League Section 1 title on Saturday.
The Goleta Valley South Little League 10-under All-Stars won the Section 1 championship Saturday with a 7-5 victory over Thousand Oaks.
Goleta Valley South took the lead in the first inning and held off Thousand Oaks to earn their second pennant of the summer.
Cole Schoenwetter hit a two-run homer, Aidan Mandel doubled and Nicky Fell went 2-for-2 to lead the GVS offense.
Evon Weeks got GVS going with a three-run single in the first inning.
GVS piled on four more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Fell’s single got things going, scoring Emmett Speake. That was followed up by Schoenwetter’s two-run blast
Pitchers for GVS were Gino Darke and Fell.
GVS advances to the Little League Sub-Regional Tournament in Long Beach.
