Goleta Valley South Little League advanced to the championship of the District 63 10-Under All-Star Tournament with a 9-2 win over Santa Paula on Wednesday.
The first championship game is on Thursday, July 7 at Ventura Foothill Little League.
Nicky Fell hit a two-run homer in the first inning and went 3-for-3 to spark the Goleta Valley South attack. Goleta Valley South added three runs in the third on RBI singles by Cole Schoenwetter, Caden Hodina and Evon Weeks. The team scored two runs in the fourth inning, and followed it up with two more in the sixth.
Pitcher Aidan Mandel gave up five hits, walked one and didn’t allow an earned run in five innings. He struck out three.
Center fielder Lance Bermudes threw out two runners with missiles to second and third base.
