Goleta Valley South Little League’s tremendous run in All-Star competition came to an end Saturday for the Under-12 and Under-11 teams at their respective So Cal sub-regional tournaments.
The 12U Stars fell to Metro Pioneer in an elimination game in Ontario, while the 11U squad was ousted by Northridge Little League, 12-1.
Metro Pioneer smacked three home runs in beating the GVS 12U Stars. Will Trautwein gave the local squad a solid pitching performance, blanking Metro Pioneer for the last three innings.
The GVS 12U and 11U teams advanced to the sub-regionals by winning the District 63 and Section 1 tournament titles.
