Goleta Valley South Little League 12U All-Stars completed District 63 Tournament pool play without a loss, routing Carpenteria 20-0 in a shortened mercy-rule victory in Montalvo on Friday.
Henry Manfredonia opened scoring in the first inning with a 3-run homer to right-center field. Caden Vom Steeg and Nick Oakley had 3 hits apiece and Will Trautwein, Buddy Melgoza, and Ian Oakley each added a pair of hits. For the second game in a row, every GVSLL player scored at least one run.
Manfredonia, and Conner Hess each pitched two innings of the four-inning game, yielding only one hit and striking out eight.
By going 6-0 in pool play, GVSLL clinched the No. 1 seed for the single-elimination bracket, which begins July 11 in Montalvo.
