Ruth McGolpin and Susan Croshaw helped the Panama Jack volleyball team win the gold medal in the women’s 45s Division at the USA Open Adult National Volleyball Tournament in Detroit, Mich.
McGolpin, the assistant women’s coach at Westmont College and co-coach for the Dos Pueblos High girls sand volleyball team, was honored as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Panama Jack beat Rufo John Voley from Venezuela in the championship match, 25-12, 25-16. Earlier, the team defeated Sampa Brasil (25-14, 25-12) in the quarterfinals and Volei Brasil (25-21, 25-23) in the semifinals.
