Laurel Kujan of Santa Barbara and Ventura’s Sammy Slater have earned spots on the USA Volleyball Beach High Performance Elite 10 for girls under 17.
Kujan, a sophomore at Laguna Blanca School, and Slater, a junior at Ventura High, were members of the 2014 HP Elite 10 U17 team. They competed in USAV’s “transition week” this past weekend with 18 other select athletes chosen from hundreds of girls from throughout the country.
The USA Volleyball Beach High Performance Program is the most prestigious junior beach volleyball program in the country and is recognized as one of the premier international pipeline development programs in the world.
Kujan and Slater will train with the HP Elite 10 on the beaches in L.A.’s South Bay area, preparing for the USAV HP Championships, July 17-19 at Santa Monica Pier.
