The Foresters erupted for six runs in the sixth inning and rolled to an 11-2 win over the Santa Paula Halos in a California Collegiate League baseball game at Harding Park on Thursday.
The Foresters built a 4-1 lead for starter Willy Amador after two innings before blowing the game open. John Holland had a two-run single in the second inning.
Holland, Lex Kaplan and Jeremy Montalbano each had two RBI in the win.
Santa Barbara improves to 11-2 overall and 6-2 in the CCL.
The Foresters return home over the weekend for a three-game series against the South Coast Saints. The team will pay tribute to two members of the Forester family who passed away this year: Doug Reeves and Gary Woods.
Saturday is Doug Reeves Night. Reeves was a long-time volunteer and board of the Foresters and Hugs for Cubs.
Sunday will be Gary Woods Day at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium. Woods was the long-time hitting coach for the team and a mentor to the players. Game time is 1 p.m.
