Grant Davis had three hits, drove in a run and reached base five times, and the Foresters took the rubber game of their three-game series against the So Cal Catch on Sunday with a 7-1 victory at Biola University.
The result improves the Foresters’ records to 10-2 and 5-2 in the California Collegiate League.
The Foresters took advantage of Catch pitching wildness. They scored three runs in the third with the help of five walks. Davis had a RBI single and Jeremy Montalbano drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
Three hit batters contributed to a four-run fifth inning.
On the mound, starter Keaton Siomkin of Cal was sharp for his three innings of work. He gave up one run, two hits and struck out five. Parker Joe Robinson threw a scoreless 2.1 innings but left with the bases loaded with one out in the sixth. Elliot Surrey got a double play to end the inning. Troy Cruz finished the game with three scoreless innings.
