DP alums Boulanger, Leiphardt win ‘AA’ ratings

A pair of former Dos Pueblos High players combined to win the California Beach Volleyball Association Santa Barbara Women’s A Tournament at East Beach on Saturday.

Marina Boulanger and Maddie Leiphardt defeated Santa Barbara’s Ann Cowell and Kelsy Siegel, 28-18, in the final. Boulanger plays sand volleyball at Florida International University and Leiphardt just completed her two-year indoor career at SBCC. She’s headed to Cal State Northridge to play indoor and sand volleyball.

In the final of the Men’s A, Miles Maassen (Goleta) and Kevin Davidson (Santa Barbara) eked out a 29-27 victory over locals Matt Riley and Chad Arneson in the championship match.

The tournament winners earned their AA beach rating.
