Ty Montgomery, Dylan Borgeson and Cole Philip combined on a two-hitter, and Dos Pueblos Little League jump out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning en route to a 14-0 mercy-rule win over Carpinteria on Tuesday in the District 63 12-Under All-Star Tournament in Montalvo.
Dos Pueblos sent 10 players to the plate in the opening frame, scoring five runs, thanks to a double by Borgeson and a triple by Montgomery.
In the second inning, DP plated two more runs following a double by Montgomery.
DP catcher Jared Williams launched a two-run homer to spark a six-run third inning that included a triple by Alex Moosbrugger, who got thrown out trying to score.
Jackson Greaney, Moosbrugger and Montgomery each had two hits. Williams and Moosbrugger drove in three runs apiece, while Kellan Montgomery had two RBIs.
In the third round of District 63 pool play, DP (2-0) will face Ventura Coastal on Friday, June 19 at Montalvo.
