The Santa Barbara High doubles team of Jordan Rodnick and Logan Lender fell to Anaheim Canyon High’s Scott Nguyen and Lyndon Bui in the round of 16 of the CIF Individual Tennis Tournament on Friday.
In singles, two-time Channel League champion Kento Perera of San Marcos was upended by Marina’s Max Cancilla, 6-2, 6-3. It was only the third loss of the season for the Royals sophomore.
Nguyen-Bui, the No. 8 seeded team in the tournament, defeated the Dons duo 6-4, 6-3.
“It was a good match full of high quality tennis,” Santa Barbara coach Greg Tebbe said. “Our guys competed well and had chances in both sets but the other team was just a bit too tough. Jordan and Logan represented SBHS well and it was a quality end to our season.”
