Mikela Keefer won the 1600 meters at Thursday’s Tri-Valley League track & field championships for host Carpinteria, Nordhoff won the boys title and La Reina claimed the girls title.
Keefer, a sophomore, was the only Warrior to win an event. She added a second place in the 3200 and will lead a handful of teammates that also qualified for CIF.
Annalisa DeAlba qualified in both shot and discus. Her discus throw was a new PR that received an at-large entry. Jimmy Graves qualified in pole vault and high jump. Tim Jimenez did the same in the long jump and triple jump.
Nordhoff’s Cameron Kunde triumphed in the 800 and 1600. Regin Wilson claimed the long and triple double. Justin Coert won two events for Fillmore, the discus and shot put.
St. Bonaventure’s Celera Barnes dominated the girls 100 and 200 meter sprints. Her winning times were 12.18 (100) and 24.98 (200).
La Reina’s Janelle Lunde swept the long jump and triple jump as the school’s only double event winner. The Regents won the team championship with depth, placing in the top five in every event except the throws.
The CIF Division 4 Prelims are next Saturday at Carpinteria High School.
