Dos Pueblos clinched the Channel League championship on Friday with a 4-0 victory at Buena. It’s DP’s second league championship in a row and third in the past four years.
Veronika Gulvin pitched the shutout, holding the Bulldogs to four hits. The Bulldogs loaded the bases in the second inning with one out but Gulvin produced a strikeout and ground out to end the threat.
DP’s first two runs were unearned. After taking a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth, the Chargers added two more in the top of the fifth. Jade Sinskul roped an RBI single to left field to score Lani Evans and Sirena Perez followed with a bloop RBI single that scored Ali Milam.
The Chargers close out their league season next week at San Marcos on Tuesday and at home on Friday.
