Dos Pueblos took down San Marcos on Tuesday in a Channel League game, 11-1.
The Chargers scored five runs in the top half of the first inning to quickly gain the upper hand. Two of Dos Pueblos’ 10 hits in the game went for extra bases, including a home run by Jade Sinskul.
San Marcos’ offensive leaders were Hailee Rios and Hailey Fryklund. Rios was 2 for 4 with an RBI and Fryklund added two hits. Rios also pitched a complete game for San Marcos and collected 12 strikeouts.
“We found ourselves in a big hole early, but I was proud of how the team battled every inning to try to get some runs back,” stated Royals head coach Jeff Swann. “Hailee Rios worked extremely hard in the circle and I liked the defensive effort of all our players against an aggressive running DP team.”
