The long playoff road came to an end for the Bishop Diego softball team on Tuesday, as the Cardinals fell to Academy of Careers & Exploration, 10-0, in a CIF Division 7 second-round game in Helendale.
Bishop Diego traveled to Anaheim for a wild-card game and Victorville for a first-round contest.
ACE scored six runs in the sixth inning to end the game.
Bishop Diego had five hits off a strong ACE pitcher.
“We were able to get hits against the best pitcher we faced this year, but were unable to convert them into runs,” said coach John Ceriale.
“We finished strong, making it to second round of CIF playoffs,” he added. “The coaching staff is proud of the team’s effort this season.
