Ventura got a two-out single in the seventh inning to score the winning run and beat San Marcos 2-1 in a Channel League baseball game Tuesday at Joe Mueller Field.
It was the third time this season San Marcos suffered a loss with two outs in the seventh.
The Royals tied the score in the sixth on a two-out RBI single by Anthony Sanchez. Nolan
Cope led off the inning with a double to right center, Blake Katsev was intentionally
walked and Sanchez came through with a single to center.
Austin Ricci threw 6 strong innings for the Royals.
San Marcos (6-16-1, 1-10) finishes it season Wednesday at Ventura (6-5).
