Carpinteria’s doubles team of Bryan Taira and Jonathan Cleek were stopped in the semifinals of the Tri-Valley League Tournament on Thursday
The duo fell 6-2, 6-1 to Cate.
“I thought we came out of the gate and played them tough. Many long games with a lot of back and forth action,” reported Warriors head coach Charles Bryant.
The team will be an alternate for the CIF Individual Tournament as the league’s No. 3 team.
“Although I do not feel we played our best today, most of it was due to
how strong the Cate team was and they deserve a lot of credit,” Bryant said.
