The Bishop Diego boys tennis team began the Frontier League Tournament this week.
After a bye in the first round, Spencer Ekola took down Josh Penn from Foothill Tech 8-0 in the quarterfinals before winning 6-0, 6-0 in the semifinals. He will compete in the tournament championship on Friday.
Mikey Kelly went 8-0 in the opening round and suffered a tough loss in the quarters to Nordhoff’s Max Prestwich.
In the doubles department, Cameron Roberts teamed up with Christian Vasquez to advance to semi-finals after a bye in the first round followed by an 8-3 victory in the quarter. Cameron Krul and Jonathan Lindsey lost in the first round.
The tournament will continue on Friday at Villanova.
