Dos Pueblos wrestler Ryan Fidel qualified for the USA Freestyle Nationals by finishing second at the State Championships in Fresno over the Weekend.
Fidel, a sophomore, beat Thomas Diaz (17-12) in his quarterfinal match and pinned Raiden Montero of Gridley in the semifinal match. He lost in the state final against Christian Nunez of Team Tribe, St. John Bosco.
Fidel will travel with Team California for a week-long training camp held at North Dakota State University leading up to the USA Wrestling National Freestyle Championships in July in Fargo, N.D.
