Carpinteria was swept by Nordhoff’s track & field teams on Wednesday in a Tri-Valley League dual meet. The girls meet was a tight 66-63 decision in favor of the Rangers.
Nordhoff outscored the Warriors in the boys competition 80-56.
Gabe Zapien-Ybarra and Gaby Fantone won two events each for the Warriors. Zapien-Ybarra bested the field in the shot (41-7.5) and discus (141-6). Fantone triumphed in the 100 and 300 hurdles. The Warriors claimed wins in both of the boys hurdles events as well, as Jimmy Graves and Chance Wright split the 100 and 300 respectively. Monique Sanchez won the pole vault with a new PR of 8’7″.
It was the Warriors’ final TVL dual meet before the league championships next Thursday.
