Three Vaqueros make all-state academic baseball team

Three SBCC players have been named to the Academic All-State Baseball team.

Starting pitcher Sean Barry, a 6-2 freshman from Moorpark, has a 3.84 GPA. Kit Larson, who got a scholarship to North Carolina State, made the All-Academic team for the second straight year with a 3.80 GPA.

Barry (7-3) leads the WSC North with a 1.65 ERA and 79 strikeouts in 12 games. Larson has a 2.31 ERA with two saves.

Infielder Cody Santana also made the elite squad with a 3.63 GPA. A player must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher to make the Academic All-State team.

The Vaqueros (25-8, 14-7) are ranked No. 4 in Southern Cal and are currently in second place in conference, one game behind Oxnard with three to play.

SBCC will be home on Tuesday vs. Ventura and Thursday vs. Hancock with both games starting at 2:30 p.m.
