Lili Rose Akin and Piper Smith recorded personal bests on Friday as San Marcos girls team defeated Northwood 103-64. Sean Apsey delivered an individual victory for the boys team in a 109-64 loss.
Junior Olivia Smith and freshman Maija Ninness won individual events and teamed together with Lily Cote and Jenna Phreaner to win the medley relay. Ninness was a double-winner taking the 100 backstroke and 100 free.
Akin’s times in the 200 free (2:04.49) and 500 free (5:29.06) were career bests. She won the 500 free. Piper Smith’s PR came in the 50 freestyle in a time of 25.97.
“It was a great racing day after a long week of training,” said Royals head coach Chuckie Roth.
Roth’s girls team is 6-0 on the season.
Apsey was the only individual winner for San Marcos’ boys team. Apsey finished in 4:56.55.
