Aliyah Huerta-Leipner pitched a five-inning perfect game and hit a home run and a triple, leading San Marcos to a 10-0 win over Hueneme in a Pac-View Challenge softball game on Wednesday.
“AJ had a fantastic game, going perfect in the circle for five innings and contributing with two big hits,” said San Marcos coach Jeff Swann. “I was especially proud of how our defense got on track with some solid play to back her up.”
Huerta-Leipner struck out four and improved to 6-1 on the season. Offensively, she had 3 RBI and drove in two runs.
Hailee Rios went 3-4 with 2 RBI, Cara Christian went 2-3, with a double and 2 RBI, and Veronica Villarreal had two hits, scored two runs and drove in a run.
San Marcos is 13-6.
