A lone run in the third inning stood up for St. Bonaventure on Thursday as the Seraphs topped Bishop Diego 1-0 in a Tri-Valley League game.
The Cardinals fall to 1-3 in the league standings while St. Bonaventure is at the top with a 4-0 record.
Bishop Diego freshman Will Goodwin pitched a complete game, scattering five hits without issuing a walk.
But it was St. Bonaventure’s Turner McDonald who was credited with the victory as Bishop Diego was held to just one hit and no runs. Dylan Street recorded the Cardinals’ one hit while Brian Camacho and Jacob Bravo had doubles for the Seraphs.
The Seraphs defeated the Cardinals 6-2 on Tuesday in the first TVL matchup of the week. St. Bonaventure led 6-0 when RJ Cordeiro launched a two-run home run over the right-field fence in the fifth inning. It was Cordeiro’s seventh home run of the season in just 11 games.
Bishop Diego is now off for Spring Break and will return to game action on April 15.
