Dos Pueblos outhit Oaks Christian but wound up on the short end of an 8-6 score Saturday in a Harvard Westlake Tournament baseball game.
The Chargers had 11 hits to Oaks Christian’s four. But Riley Heiland hit a homer and a double, stole two bases and drove in three runs for the Lions. Oaks Christian also took advantage of seven walks.
Oaks Christian was leading 2-1 when it exploded for six runs in the fifth inning. Heiland hit a two-run homer and Cortez Espinosa had a two-run single.
Dos Pueblos scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth on Nick Noggle’s three-run homer. The Chargers added two more runs in the sixth on hits by Noggle and Colter Nisbet.
Travis Craven singled with one out in the bottom of the seventh, but Oaks Christian reliever Lee Pitts got the next two batters to end the game.
