Dos Pueblos scored six runs in the first two innings on Wednesday on the way to an 8-2 victory over Taylorsville at the Anaheim Lions Tournament.
Dustin Demeter flashed his power, hitting a double and a home run to drive in four runs. One spot ahead of Demeter in the batting order, Luke Coffey was 3 for 4 and scored two runs with an RBI of his own.
Darby Naughton was the winning pitcher for Dos Pueblos. The sophomore right-hander lasted 5 1/3 innings and struck out three while being charged with a single earned run. Kyle Ownsby pitched the final inning and a two-thirds. Three of Ownsby’s five outs were by strikes.
Dos Pueblos, which finishes the Lions Tournament 2-2, was playing in its sixth game in seven days.
