SBCC had a tough time passing in the third and fourth sets on Friday night and dropped a 3-1 men’s volleyball decision to El Camino in Torrance. The scores were 25-20, 22-25, 25-16, 25-15.
The second-place Warriors improved to 15-3 and 8-3 in the WSC while the Vaqueros fell to 11-6 and 6-4.
“We didn’t capitalize on opportunities early in the first set and we were a bit sloppy,” said coach Matt Jones. “We cleaned things up in the second set and played well. In the third and fourth sets, we couldn’t pass and they served us off the court. We couldn’t sideout and we were out of system.”
Taylor McCluskey and Sean Reynaert led the Vaqueros with nine kills each. To’o To’o had five blocks and Casey Alper made nine digs.
The Vaqueros will play their final regular-season home match on Wednesday vs. Moorpark at 6 p.m.
