The San Marcos boys golf team capped off an undefeated Channel League golf season on Thursday as they defeated Ventura in a 390-441 decision at the La Cumbre Country Club.
Niels Andersen was the medalist on the day shooting a 74. Chris Wong and Bennett Reichard were not far behind with a pair of 78s. Additionally, Sam Metzger and Chad Visser recorded a 79 and 81 respectively.
“I am very proud of this team. Going undefeated in the Channel League is not an easy task,” said coach Aaron Solis. “But it was one of the goals the team set at the beginning of the year so I am happy they acheived that goal. Now we can focus on our next goal as a team.”
The victory concludes a perfect 8-0 league season (11-2 overall) for San Marcos. The Royals will compete in the Channel League Individual tournament on Monday and Tuesday at the Soule Park Gold Course in Ojai. The first matches tee off at 10 a.m.
