INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – UCSB’s Alan Williams had an outstanding game to help lead the West Team to a 109-87 win over the East Team at the Reese’s National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Star Game at Lucas Oil Stadium on Friday in Indianapolis.
Williams, who started the game, scored 13 points, collected six rebounds, had four assists and one steal in his 20 minutes of action. Williams, who was a three-time First Team All-Big West Conference choice for the Gauchos, scored a team-high 10 of his points in the first half as the West Team took a commanding lead. He made 5-of-7 shots in that period.
A Phoenix native, Williams completed his UCSB career as the school’s leading rebounder and its second-leading scorer and shot-blocker. On Friday, playing in the same facility that will host Saturday’s NCAA Division I Final Four and Monday’s National Championship game, he made 6-of-10 field goal attempts and had the second most assists on the West Team.
Williams was ninth UCSB player to compete in the NABC All-Star Game.
