“Our guys played a steady match tonight,” said Laguna Blanca head coach Dillan Bennett. “When the game wasn’t very competitive, we put ourselves in cruise control a bit too much and that’s a challenge we need to meet throughout the remainder of the season.”
The Owls were led by Philip Fauntleroy, who had 17 kills on the night. Ryan Bickett had 10 digs and 8 kills while Jack Copeland added 3 blocks.
“Tonight, our blocking really came up big for us and I hope it continues during the stretch run,” added coach Bennett.
Luca Jordano had another solid performance for Bishop Diego, tallying 13 kills and 7 digs. Brolin Parris chipped in with 27 assists and 8 digs while John Harris had 11 kills.
“We showed flashes of brilliance but unfortunately, we ran into a solid and experienced team tonight,” commented Cardinals head coach Jason Donnelly. “We have been trying to work on our offensive consistency and while we made some strides, we are not quite there yet.”
